FAQS
Do I need a liquor license for my event? Depending on the state/location of your event, the local government may require a permit for an outdoor or public venue. It is best to contact the venue owner then contact us to help your with the process of applying for a permit if it's needed.
Do you offer refunds or exchanges? We offer refunds only if the issue cannot be resolved between us and you regarding an event that is currently happening. Credits are applied to events that need to be rescheduled if notification is given at a minimum of 5 days before the event. Partial credit is considered up until day of event. Day of event cancelations cannot receive credit or refunds. Deposits are non-refundable!!!!
What's the best way to pay? All packages require a Non-Refundable retainer of 25%. The total balance due will need to be paid one (1) week before the date of the event. Stay Tipsy DMV staff will not perform any mobile bartending services until full payment is received. The retainer is non-refundable once the date is secured and staff is scheduled. However, you can reschedule with another date up to four (4) months later and use the retainer for the rescheduled event. We accept e-checks, credit/debit cards.
What is your auto-gratuity? Automatic gratuity is a service charge that is applied to all corporate contracts and client-requested private events that covers the anticipated tip that the bartender would have received if the event was a tipped event. Many of our corporate events do not wish for the bartender to have out a tip jar, and we understand and respect this request, so an auto-gratuity is applied to the invoice.
How much can my guests drink at my event? Alcohol will be served in accordance with Maryland State Liquor laws and regulations. Our bartenders will not serve alcohol to minors (anyone under the legal age of 21 years). The bartender will require proof of age (I.D.) for all guests of a questionable age partaking in alcoholic beverages. The bartender will not be held liable for minors who consume alcohol during the event given by another adult. Our staff are TAM-certified & TIPS-certified (Training for Intervention Procedures). However, the host of the event is ultimately responsible for all invited guests and their actions. Stay Tipsy DMVÂ reserves the right to refuse service to any guests who seem to have had too much to drink, per our judgment.
What is included when the bartender comes? Our standard service includes staffing a state-certified bartender with the skills and knowledge to create hundreds - if not thousands - of different types of cocktails, as well as providing their standard bar tools that they need to work efficiently and effectively.
Another bartending company provides ice with their service, why don't you? We do not provide ice with our standard service because each event is not cookie-cutter. The amount of ice needed for a beer and wine event of 20 people is not the same quantity needed for a cocktail hour and open bar reception at a wedding. We hope you understand that our goal is to provide you with accurate and professional service - not to overcharge you for frozen water.
Does liquor come with my booking? We are a mobile bartending company, not a spirits distributor - so in short, no. But we do have a spirits conceirge service (SCS) that handles the projection of beer, wine, and spirits needed for an event and connects you with our distributor that can fulfill your order and schedule your delivery.
I hope we've answered most, if not all of your questions! If you still have questions, please don't forget to ask us during your initial consultation with us!
